Picked up a box of skeletons - going to try out making verdigris and see how it looks.Ĭommunity platform by XenForo ® © 2010-2021 XenForo Ltd. Seems good for adding quick verdigris accents to metal but I think I'm going more for adding metal accents to turq verdigris. I kind of like mixing up the turq myself so i passed on the Nihilakh Oxide. Just got back from the hobby shop - bought a good bronze and some colors. That method will produce the look in bulk, then I can carefully apply black wash to add the black and really get that weathered look. The first one is nice because it created the same effect easily. maybe 5 rounds of washes and you'll start to get the right effect. ![]() Maybe it needs a few rounds to carefully bring out the black. ![]() So on the "book" bit i added some targeted black wash to start this "black" effect. When you put even tiny dabs of solid black on the turq it stands out and looks bad. I tried that with bad results - the black in the photo isn't really black its shades of black-brown, kind of gray in spots. I don't really know anything about this new verdigris technical paint, but it should work too, especially on a textured surface :) The most beneficial thing is the ability to do your own thicker or thinner washes with this medium mixed with normal paints and making glazes - which are very helpful when you want to change the tone of your already highlighted mini without doing it again. After that some wash and it should be nice  Some minor tweaks and the method you posted should work fine :thumbsup:Īs for the medium - it is kinda oily and slows the drying of the paint so it prevents pooling and makes differences in tones smoother - i think it improves many washes but truth to be told, you could get similiar effects with just water for thinning. ![]() I base my stuff metallic because that's how it was in the beginning, but I don't see why couldn't you skip just to turquoise and use it as a base - I'm just superstitious xDĪlso - stippling works when it's rather dry, otherwise it just blends flat like everything else, skip stippling with teal and stipple metallic and later stipple/drubrush white, I think that highlights would be too strong and 'tidy', when drybrushing you have more 'dusty' effect. ![]()
